Ryan Miller may have been the back up goalie for the opposing team Tuesday night, but he was welcomed as one of their own.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby stood there with a disgusted look on his face as his home town fans cheered for the opposing goalie.

Ryan Miller was the goaltender for Team USA and help lead them to the Silver Medal. The Pittsburgh Penguin fans showed him great respect Tuesday night and thanked him with their applause.

Sidney Crosby scored the game winning goal for Team Canada beating Ryan Miller and Team USA 3-2 in overtime of the 2010 Olympics.

Slovakia was playing to win their first ever medal in Olympic hockey, and took a 3-1 lead in the second period. But Finland came out strong in the third period scoring 3 goals, 2 on the power play, and one even strength. Slovakia pulled their goalie late in the third trying to tie it up, but Val Filppula scored on the empty net to wrap up the Bronze medal.

Team USA will face off with Canada tomorrow night for the Gold Medal.

The two teams will be playing in a rematch of last Sundays game in which Team USA beat Canada 5-3. This was the first time the USA has beat the Canadians in Olympic play since 1960.

The teams also played each other in the Gold Medal game of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics and Canada beat Team USA to win the Gold Medal.

Finland will play Slovakia later today for the Bronze medal.

On Thursday afternoon Canada beat Team USA in woman’s hockey to win the Gold Medal.

They will now play the winner of Canada vs. Slovakia (9:30pm ET on CNBC) who play later tonight.

USA took and early lead going up 6-0 in the first period. Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks) had 2 goals Brian Rafalski (Detroit Red Wings) had 2 assists for Team USA.

Team USA pulled their starting goalie (Ryan Miller) mid-way through the third period to prevent injury and to give back up goalie (Tim Thomas) some playing time. Finland’s Antti Miettinen scored with just over 5 minutes remaining in the third period to make the final score 6-1.

Finland will take on the loser of Canada vs. Slovakia for the Bronze Medal.

Finland Goalie Miikka Kiprusoff (Calgary Flames) allowed 4 goals on 7 shots and was pulled from the game.

The Winner of USA – Finland will face the winner of Canada – Slovakia in the Gold Medal game on Sunday. The two losing teams will face each other on Saturday for the Bronze.
