Team USA defeated Finland 6-1 today in the men’s semifinal of the 2010 Olympics.

They will now play the winner of Canada vs. Slovakia (9:30pm ET on CNBC) who play later tonight.

USA took and early lead going up 6-0 in the first period. Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks) had 2 goals Brian Rafalski (Detroit Red Wings) had 2 assists for Team USA.

Team USA pulled their starting goalie (Ryan Miller) mid-way through the third period to prevent injury and to give back up goalie (Tim Thomas) some playing time. Finland’s Antti Miettinen scored with just over 5 minutes remaining in the third period to make the final score 6-1.

Finland will take on the loser of Canada vs. Slovakia for the Bronze Medal.
